Full Description: This is Chester. Chester came to HLR as a result of hard times for his family. Do the economic down turn, they could no longer care for Chester - so they contacted HLR for help.
Chester is a sweet boy - he knows basic obedience, is house trained and does fine on a leash. Chester also likes other dogs and cats. Chester is loving and gentle and certainly loves people, although initially a bit scared of men. Chester certainly warms quickly and is loving boy. Chester is afraid of thunderstorms and gunfire - but is not destructive. Chester is a great labbie with lots of love and life to live. Come and meet him today.
Update from foster home 5/26/09:
Chester had a rocky start the first night he was with us. But as my son was heading off to bed, he leaned down and whispered to Chester, "Don't worry, we'll find you a good home." And since then...Chester has been the Labbie of our dreams.
Chester is completely housebroken. He is very mellow and just wants to be with his people but isn't demanding about it. Chester prefers the inside to the outside. He is crate trained. Chester doesn't chew or eat things. He doesn't get on the furniture. He has slipped into our household like he's always been there. We don't have any cats so I can't say whether he likes them as a friend or as a tasty morsel. Chester hasn't yet acknowledged the Yorkie at our house but has fallen head over heels in love with our Lab.
Chester does have a fear of thunderstorms; last night he broke out of the crate and went to sleep with my six year old when the storm broke out.
