Full Description: This big boy is Mack - Mack has had a few tough weeks - you see his owner recently passed-away leaving Mack without a place to go. Thankfully for Mack, his owner's caregiver couldn't bare the thought of Mack going to a shelter so she took him in and contacted HLR.
They do not come any sweeter than Mack - Mack is a gentle giant - he really just likes to lay next to you on the floor and of course get a bit of loving. Mack is house-broken, fully trustworthy in the house uncrated and does well with other dogs.
He is just so loving and so easy going - you will just love him.

UPDATE: 7/22/09
In Mack's intake exam he tested positive for heartworm so he is undergoing treatment. Dogs fully recover from heartworm when treated properly; however the treatment for heartworm is expensive. Mack will not suffer any residual affects and will live a long and happy life. If you would like to donate to Mack's treatment click on the link below.
UPDATE 9/6/09: Mack is an absolute sweetheart and he is doing great in his new foster home. He is good with other dogs (large and small) and he hasn’t paid any attention to his feline housemates. He is great with kids and enjoys getting lots of attention from his foster kid. His favorite thing, besides people (of course!), is lounging around on a big, soft dog bed. He also loves going on walks, which should help him lose his extra weight once he gets the all clear (from his heartworm treatments) from his veterinarian to increase his exercise regime. He is also crate trained and house trained and knows sit. Mack is a calm, sweet, laid back guy who can’t wait to find his forever home.
UPDATE 10/25/09: Mack is doing great! He got the "all clear" from the vet for heartworms a while back, and he has been excited to join his canine housemates on long walks. He absolutely loves going on walks (not to mention all the petting he gets from kids in the neighborhood!) and has been working on losing some of his extra weight. Mack has excellent house manners and is content to lounge around the house, although he does like to follow his foster mom around and make sure she doesn't do anything too exciting. Mack is a very sweet boy with lots of love to give. If you are interested in a calm, laid back guy, Mack might be the one for you!
